The Heart of Peoria (HoP) Loop, in collaboration with the City of Peoria, is a strategically defined geographic area poised to become a focal point for smart city projects. This initiative, underpinned by a smart city brokerage agreement, is set to transform Peoria into a hub of innovation and sustainability. Encompassing a range of projects aimed at enhancing mobility, economic opportunity, public safety, environmental sustainability, community health, and civic innovation, the HoP Loop represents a concerted effort to leverage advanced technology and data-driven solutions. This endeavor will not only address current urban challenges but also pave the way for a future-oriented, connected, and resilient community, making Peoria a model for smart city development.

Understanding Social Determinants of Health (SDoH)
The social determinants of health refer to the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age that impact their health, functioning, and quality of life. These factors include access to healthcare, socioeconomic status, education, physical environment, employment, and social support networks. At Distillery Labs, we are committed to working with startups to pilot health and wellness, biotech, life science, and other bio-med innovations in the Peoria region. Our focus on supporting and nurturing these startups directly addresses the social determinants of health by creating opportunities for improved healthcare access, economic empowerment, and technological advancements that can positively impact the overall well-being of individuals in the community.
